RECORD 2011 FOR VOMO FIJI PRIVATE ISLAND RESORT LEADS TO ENHANCEMENTS IN 2012

RECORD 2011 FOR VOMO FIJI PRIVATE ISLAND RESORT LEADS TO ENHANCEMENTS IN 2012
Proposals, Weddings, Honeymoons and Expansion at the Resort & in the U.S. Market

Vomo, Fiji – (January 30, 2012)  By all counts 2011 was a milestone year at Vomo Private Island Resort, highlighted by the taping of ABC’s Bachelorette finale where Ashley accepted J.P.’s marriage proposal on Vomo’s Rocks beach, that later aired in front of over 10 million t.v. viewers.    And, it seemed to have started a trend.  Resort management reports that 2011 was a record year for hosting even more marriage proposals (some even on the resort’s stunning private islet, Vomo Lai Lai), destination weddings (often booking out the entire resort) and honeymoons – including visits by Monaco’s Prince Albert and his new bride, Princess Charlene, and a honeymoon for New Zealand’s own All Black rugby favorite, Dan Carter and his bride, Honor Dillon.

And now in 2012 this 30-villa, private island luxury resort – with an average room night cost of $1,000 U.S. a night, including all meals, non-alcoholic drinks and all non motorized activities -- is scheduled for villa remodels, the addition of a brand new three-bedroom private residence, the creation of a new spa building and an all-new kid’s camp and further expansion into the U.S. market.
“2011 really was The Year of Romance for Vomo,” says General Manager, Wayne Milgate, “whether guests brought their family for a destination wedding, or decided to get engaged or honeymoon here, or simply came on holiday and fell in love the casual elegance of this Fijian experience.  Many even booked their next stay before they left.”
To mark the arrival of an exciting 2012, Vomo is presenting a special offer:  Stay 7 nights and Pay for only 5 nights, OR Stay 5, Pay 4 nights, PLUS each booking will receive a $275.00 voucher for use at the resort on services such as spa treatments, babysitting, boutique and beverage purchases.  The special packages are available through the end of March, 2012.
The taping of the popular U.S. reality show finale at Vomo was the springboard of the New Zealand owned resort into the American market, with sales and p.r. representation established  in Los Angeles offices and the resort being featured at such venues as the Associated Press Fender Music Lodge at the Sundance Film Festival and in a National Public Radio fall and winter campaign at their largest station in Southern California.
Vomo expansion projects for 2012 include:
-          An all new, contemporary 3-bedroom villa with a private pool, indoor/outdoor dining, full entertainment system and butler service – adding to the two, already existing three and four bedroom villas at the resort.  These private residences are hugely popular with groups of friends travelling together, families and multi-generational parties vacationing together or when couples are looking for a little more space and privacy.

-          A purpose built Turtle Club children’s camp -- Catering to children ranging from infants to young teenagers, this all-weather facility will ensure that family holidays on Vomo offer fun for guests of all ages.  The new club is scheduled to be completed in April.  The bure/ tropical hut that has been used for Turtle Club activities in the past will become a relaxing communal space for adults with a library and entertainment system.

-          All new Spa – The already impressive, intimate Fiji island style spa – which uses local products enhanced with flower & plant essences in its beauty and body treatments – will move to a brand new, larger building.  We promise you will still be lulled to sleep by the island air, the amazing scents, the softly playing Fijian music and the skilled hands of the spa therapists.
